Hello, I'm disabled ski racer, John Whitney, and thank you for visiting my site!
I am a new member of the United States Adaptive Ski Team and was born with a birth defect called Proximal Focal Femoral Deficiency. I have been skiing since 1990 and racing since 1996 with the National Sports Center for the Disabled Alpine Ski Team which I am still a member of. I was nominated to the USAST in April of 2008 and officially named to the team in August. As you can see from the picture, even though I wear a prosthesis on my left leg, I do not ski with it. I have made Tabernash, Colorado my home for this season when I am not at USAST camps or racing on the Nor-Am and World Cup circuits.
Please enjoy browsing my site and learning a little bit more about me, my goals and aspirations, and how you can support me in my endeavor to represent the United States at the 2010 Paralympics in Vancouver, Canada.
